Safety and monitoring for heavy machinery in mines and quarries

Active AI safety and monitoring systems for heavy machinery and vehicles in mines and quarries — built for unmarked roads, dust, vibration and shift work. 360° visibility, operator monitoring and real-time alerts, connected to the fleet management platform.

Capabilities

Active safety built for the mine

Edge AI capabilities engineered for the real conditions of mines and quarries — from hazard detection to AI dispatch.

Bucket tooth-loss detection

An AI camera watches the excavator bucket on every dig cycle and flags a missing tooth within a second, preventing metal from entering the crusher and avoiding unplanned downtime.

Oversize material detection

Recognises oversize ore blocks in real time and alerts the operator; thresholds are configurable to the mine and crusher conditions.

Blind-spot people & vehicle detection

Recognises people and vehicles in the blind spot, with an algorithm tuned to the mine rather than to city driving. C53 for open-pit, C46 for underground; works at night thanks to black-light technology.

Operator monitoring (DMS)

Fatigue and distraction detection adapted to helmets, masks and vibration; works offline, with audible in-cab alerts.

Seat vibration alarm

An optional module alongside DMS and ADAS. The alert reaches the operator through the seat as well as the buzzer — so it lands in a loud cab or with hearing protection on.

AVM 360° surround view

Four cameras stitch into a single bird's-eye view, switching angle automatically as the machine moves. CA51A for open-pit, paired with the M10 recorder which does the stitching itself — no separate 360° module.

Retaining wall / edge detection

Measures the distance between the rear of the haul truck and the wall/edge during dumping and gives graded warnings; the dust-resistant radar reduces the risk of roll-over and over-edge dumping.

Forward hazard detection

Logic adapted to unmarked roads, combining radar and camera for reliable detection in dust and fog, with automatic mine/city mode switching.

Alongside the in-machine equipment comes telematics — GPS tracking, fuel control and operating data. We develop those platforms together with Smart Automotive Solutions.

Edge AI on the machine, platform in the cloud

01

Edge AI + cloud platform

On-device processing for instant in-cab alerts, with central oversight, footage and analytics on the fleet management platform.

02

Adaptable solutions

We pick equipment and features by machine type, working conditions and goals — modular and upgradeable.

03

Tuned to the site

We set thresholds and rules for the specific mine or quarry, with integration and team training.
